What creates a successful person? All people on earth want to be successful but how can that be achieved? One might say confidence, another might say responsibility, and even another might say resilience. These are all great characteristics, and they are all particularly important to be successful, but the most important characteristic that encompasses all these characteristics is leadership. To be successful, one must be a good leader. All the traits that are normally attributed to successful people are all traits of leadership. That is why, if I had the opportunity to design a new elective class, it would be a class entirely dedicated to teaching students how to become better leaders, and it would be extremely beneficial because students want to be successful and strong leadership produces strong success.

Leadership is a key aspect of success. Without strong leadership, no one on earth can be successful. One might say that it is possible to be successful without being a leader, but it is not because everyone is a leader in some way, it just depends on how strong a leader they are. Everyone has leadership traits. One might be a strong public speaker, one might have good confidence, or another might have good vision, but if they do not fine tune their characteristics, they will not be successful. A successful person spends years learning and growing their skills before they become successful. Some people might naturally be better leaders than others, but if the natural leader does not spend time growing and learning, they will not be successful. Success is produced by strong leaders and strong leaders are produced by learning.

Every person on earth wants to be successful. This may seem obvious, but some might say that there are people that do not want to be successful. Such as people who drop out of school, or people who do not want to work a job. To society, these people can seem like they have no desire to be successful, but that is not true. Success is an extremely challenging thing to measure. Society tends to measure success as the status of the job that one may work, or the amount of money that one makes but that is not success. Success is achieving a goal, meaning that success can be different for everyone. For the drop out, their goal in life may be traveling the world. For most people, dropping out of school does not seem like an achievement of any sort of success but to that person, dropping out of school was the most successful decision of their lives because they now have more time to do what they love. It was not an easy decision for the person to make, but it was the right decision for them because they achieved their goal.

Leadership takes learning. No one is born as a perfect leader. It takes time to develop the skills required to be a good leader. That is why a leadership class would make a great elective. It gives students time to grow the skills necessary to be good leaders. This class would be beneficial because, unlike other electives, it would be preparing students for their future. Preparing them for success and teaching them how to be the best leaders they can be.

If one wants to be successful, they must be a good leader. Leadership is required for every activity in the world and is required for success. A leadership elective would be beneficial because it would prepare students for their future. Everyone wants to be successful, but it takes a good leader to achieve success.
