You've been given a $10,000 grant. How will you use the money to positively impact your hometown? by Joshua - May 2019 Scholarship Essay
If I were to be granted 10,000$ for my hometown I would use 5,000$ of it to help with beach clean up. Pollution on the beach has been a major environmental issue within my hometown. Not only do I believe that this will help my hometown, I would hope that this would start a chain reaction throughout the United States and Inspire many people to want to clean up around there cities. Not only would this save the lives of many marine and non marine lives, but this could also clean up our planet. Since we only have one planet I hope that just my act around the city could help with the everlasting problem in this world of pollution. There are many ways to avoid these issues and I would use the 5000$ to be able to have people go out and help clean up, but I would also like to implement a program into our schooling systems to show the devastating long term affects it would have on the Earth.
I would then use the remaining 5,000$ to have people help repaint many of the beautiful buildings that have been ruined by cruel graffiti. Although, there is many beautiful pieces of graffiti in which have great meaning, I would like to get rid of the graffiti that promotes any form of racism or discrimination. I believe the world already has enough hate and if by doing this I can make just 100 people hate less I feel as if my job would be completed. By teaching people to not hate they can then spread love with others and make my hometown a better place.
