Choose one word to describe why I want to attend college and explain by Joshua - January 2018 Scholarship Essay

The one word I would use to describe why I want to attend college is exciting! The reason being it opens up opportunities to network with like minded individuals in my area of study, to meet new people that have different ideas, back grounds, and that may come from different areas of my state, my country or the world.
That's exciting to me! The things that I will learn, the experiences to be had, being away from family and learning to be on my own from a bright eyed freshmen to a college graduate. That's exciting to me! My future
is wide open, I just need to go out there and embrace everything college has to offer, learn as much as I can
and then I should be able to get a decent job after college or even while at college. Going to college will also give me the opportunity to pay back whether through volunteering at school, or in the community. Helping others to get ahead, or just get by. We all need help at some point in our lives and yes, that too is exciting! College is the doorway that will lead me down the path to a successful future. I know there will be some uncertainty at times, my path my have some unexpected turns, there will be some choices along the way as to which way to proceed, and that's okay. That's life. I have a good support network in my family and friends to help me should I stumble, and that's okay too. My future is bright because of the opportunities that await me at college and that's very exciting to me!
