Steps For Success by Joseph - December 2017 Scholarship Essay
My ultimate strategy for success on school projects is short and sweet. I have been using my method for my high school career. I can thank this method for giving me a 3.87 GPA, and allowing me to receive first honor roll many times. When I first receive a project I find the main idea, I print it out, and then I put it next to my work desk. I do this because it allows me to stay on topic, and it always me to connect every part of the project to the main idea. After, I will go on Google and search the topic up. I will look at books, articles, and even Youtube videos to get a good sense of the subject.
I need to know the subject from top to bottom to create a project. I do not make the project just for a grade. There is a reason my teachers gives me projects. They want me to learn, understand, and demonstrate my knowledge on the topic. If I do a project just for a grade, and then I cannot remember anything from the project a week later then I did not construct it correctly, and I did not follow my strategy for success. After my knowledge from the web has been obtained I like to get a more personal feel for the subject. I ask my mom, sister, and dad what they know about the subject. Coming from a mixed family I can get a good feel for the topic from many views. I can ideas from topics from democrat and republican, white and black, and old and young stand points. I am blessed to have the resources for this knowledge that many people do not.
After I have everyone's viewpoints I conclude my own opinion on the subject while keeping the main point in my mind. I create the project in the format that is required. After my project is completed I ask my family for their opinions. If everyone thinks it gets to the point and has great examples of the subject I will submit it. I do this for every project. I have used this for many years and it hasn't failed me.
