What Changes Do You Hope To See In Education Over The Next 10 Years? by Jose - July 2022 Scholarship Essay

I think it is safe to say that education is the foundation of any and every career. Without learning there would be no teachers; no teachers would mean no one to teach students the basics. From elementary to high school, or even college, education is key and there need to be changes to improve it.
A big change that needs to happen in education, especially in public education, should be increasing teachers pay. I believe that teachers are extremely underpaid. They hold the weight of the world on their shoulders and are responsible for molding the bright, young minds of the future.
Another change that needs to be made is increasing education funds. Most teachers have to pay out of their own pocket to obtain supplies for the students and having a budget given to them by the Department of Education to use specifically for supplies, awards ceremonies, etc., would be perfect.
Lastly, there would be an increase in security around schools in light of the atrocities that have been happening in schools. Increased security guards, metal detectors, and setting up a nationwide basic emergency response plan should be something that should be implemented.
I believe that the previous 3 changes could possibly be made within the next 10 years, with support of teachers and the Department of Education.
