Throughout my life, I have endeavored to achieve a personal balance of academic and athletic excellence. My studies have always been a priority, sharpening my mind, while athletics have honed my physical abilities. This discipline, instilled in me by my mother, has guided me towards being my best self.
Education is the cornerstone of future success. My ambition is to major in Mechanical Engineering or sports medicine paralleled by my dedication to baseball. I am driven by a vision to design innovative medical appliances that aid athletes in both preventing and recovering from injuries. Witnessing peers and loved ones struggle with the lasting effects of sports injuries, some even having their professional aspirations cut short, has deeply impacted me. I aspire not only to a successful career in Major League Baseball but also to contribute my knowledge, skills, and wisdom to the sport in a transformative way once my playing days are over. A college education will help me make a positive impact by developing innovative techniques that will allow athletes to progress and understand mobility of the body more through muscles, bones, joints, and the nervous system.
The dream of founding a company to develop and distribute these medical appliances globally is still taking shape, but it is a goal I am passionately committed to. I am determined to become the innovator-athlete I envision, propelled by my dedication to the field and the classroom. My mother’s unwavering support has been a bedrock for my ambition, and I strive to honor their belief in me through my relentless pursuit of these goals.
In addition, I would like to open a training facility for baseball training and academics. Although the facility will be open to all walks of life, I would like to focus primarily on African American youth because they are underrepresented in the baseball world. My college education is essential in creating this opportunity for youth to be able to thrive and excel. This will also lead to them staying productive and less prone to engage in negative activity and lead to a positive impact on the community. Furthermore, a college education will broaden my perspective on life and core values and will expand my intellect which will allow me to give back and educate my community in a positive way for those that don’t have the opportunity to further their education. Being able to earn more income after obtaining my degree will allow me to also pour into the community and organizations financially.
My favorite non-traditional way of learning is through internships, one on one learning, online learning, and interactive concepts in a classroom setting. Currently, outside of school I’m learning how to do coding. Overall, a sound college education is a key factor in creating change in the community!
