How my New Year's resolution will help me become a better student by jordan - January 2016 Scholarship Essay
Every year millions of people create New Year’s resolutions. This year I’ve decided to join this tradition. I have chosen to dedicate my resolution to become a better student. My New Year’s resolution is to become a better organized student.
I have always been a very dedicated to school but organization has never been my strong suite. Keeping up with finished papers, homework, and graded papers can become very challenging with so many classes. School can be very overwhelming; not knowing where your algebra homework you’re supposed to be grading can make it that much more difficult. I have three ways to help me stay organized: folders for different subjects and homework, a label maker to identify the folders, and a bag to carry things neatly such as folders or anything else I may need for my classes
My first plan of attack is folders. Folders are a great way to keep my papers in one spot instead of having papers loosely lying around everywhere, risking losing them. But I’m not going to stop there; I will purchase folders to keep my different subjects and homework in.
The next step is to keep the folders organized and I will do this by labeling all of them. Yes as funny as it sounds for an 18 year old girl to use a label maker, labeling folders can help keep different papers filed neatly in different places. This helps make papers easy to find.
My final step to my New Year’s resolution of staying organized is to keep all of my labeled folders and anything else I may need in a bag. Keeping my items in a bag will insure that everything I need will always be with me. It also will help keep me from leaving papers lying around and being lost, resulting in a zero.
Using these organization skills will help my high school and college experience go much more smoothly, ultimately helping my future.
