With fingers weary and worn, with eyelids heavy and red, a woman sat, in unwomanly rags, plying her needle and thread - stitch! stitch! stitch! in poverty, hunger, and dirt, and still with a voice of dolorous pitch, she sang the “Song of the Shirt!” We simply know that the working conditions are terrible today in factories. As factories were being fabricated, businesses were in need of workers, with a prolonged line of people willing to work, employers could set wages as prostate as they wanted because people were willing to do work as long as they got paid. I solely want to make sure that workers in factories producing clothes or electronics have safe working circumstances, are treated adequately, and are making enough money for the work that they do? By finding out what are working conditions in factories, why are they so fallacious, and the reasons their so fallacious.
Working conditions in factories are endured by many laborers in the plenary world contributed by the following: the physical hazards correlate with machinery developed for productivity, the designs and construction of which ignored the assurance of those using it. The toxic residue of many manufacturing processes to which the working poor were punctually exposed. The brutally long hours and work weeks that preceded the rise of labor unions and the negotiation of labor agreements. The abysmally low wages that accompanied most labor, the abusive use of children, who were exposed to the same physical and mental hazards as adults. The dehumanization of individuals who officialize as nothing more than literal cogs in the manufacturing process. The alteration in how family units interacted, and the perpetuation of cycles of poverty as low wages and the avail of child labor prevented any pretense of anabatic mobility for vast majority of those employed as laborers.
Why are working conditions in factories so fallacious? It would be cordial if there was one clear reason on why factories have poor working conditions, but there are actually many reasons on why factories have poor working conditions. Lack of effective government regulation led to unsafe and unhealthy work sites. As industries consolidated at the turn of the century factories grew larger and more dangerous. The general public became anxious with industrial accidents only when scores of workers were immolate in a single widely reported occasion. The number of children employed in factories rose steadily over the last 3 decades of the 19th century. Sustained working hours for children also meant that accidents were more likely to occur, like adult workers, many children were injured or killed on the job.
What are the reasons factories have poor working conditions? Looking for a lone reason is like scouting for a needle in a haystack. There are multitude of reasons factories have poor working conditions. Number 1, some employees intentionally decreased their production rate or broke their machines. Number 2, most workers, having few alternatives, simply endured the hardship of factory work. Number 3, organized labor opposed minimum-wage laws for women because it preferred to win such measures through collective bargaining. Number 4, business had to persuade labor to accept workmen’s compensation plans, which unions opposed because the benefits were not very generous.
In conclusion, after evaluating the effects of factories having poor working conditions and the reasons of why their so atrocious, it was rated as having a moderate on the workers. The lives of factory workers in today's society are so difficult that they even get injured or even killed on the job. They expected to endure long hours of work for very little pay. They are often placed in incredibly dirty and dangerous situations. As well, they lacked the basic rights necessary to fight for better conditions. We can create unions to try to increase wages or make working conditions safer.
