Parts of my college experience that I am thankful for by Jonathan - November 2016 Scholarship Essay

The part I am most thankful about college are meeting new people. Meeting new people and making new friends are always fun. Right now, I constantly meeting new people in my school. I attend Richland Collegiate High School and I am part of a club called Senior Mentors. As Vice President of the Senior Mentors, it’s my job, along with the other officers, to make sure I and other seniors to meet juniors and give them advice about the program, especially in the beginning of the school year because this an entirely new experience since they are being introduced into a college environment. When I meet new people, I am blessed to have fun with them as I get to know them. Whether it’s a sports event or a social get together, meeting new people is not a problem for me and it has always been a blast for me.

Another part that I am thankful for in a college experience is being given the freedom to go around campus and be in control of my learning and education, which allows me to mature as a student and as a person. The additional responsibility allows me to understand self-reliance and prepare me for the complicated and complex responsibilities I will later be introduced in life when I start living and doing things on my own. I am thankful for this because I can be me in the process of learning and in growing up.
