FInd your love by John - March 2019 Scholarship Essay

My advice I would give incoming freshman to high school is find your love, I don't mean a someone I mean a something. Finding your love or passion of something you love to do and that makes you happy. Sit down and weigh your options of career paths as well as classes to take that your high school has available to you. Truly ask yourself, would I love to do this job for the rest of my life and will it bring me joy? It will seem scary to make that decision of your life plan, but believe me it is the best thing to do early on. The earlier you have a plan, the better off you will be.

You don't want to be in a situation where you don't know what you want to do as a career until your a junior or even later as a senior. I'm not trying to say you need to have an absolute set plan, but look into everything your interested in early on and try to get into a program. I didn't know I wanted to be a nurse until the end of my junior year, realizing to late I didn't get to try out programs that would have been extremely beneficial to me. I had been weighing my options since freshman year and had tried out classes that helped me discover what career paths that I thought I would be interested in but realized they were not for me. Don't give up, keep looking and research different careers. Talk to your family and counselors, they can be a great source of help in discovering what career path to choose.
