Further Education Not Required by John - March 2016 Scholarship Essay

As a high school student I know that not all classes are very fun. There are some that I might take that I don't enjoy as much as others. The plans for college that I have are already planned out and I know what I want to do. As a student about to go to college I feel like I should only need to take classes that will improve me at the position I will be attending. Since I have been a little kid I have been taking these classes that have already pushed my broadness of studying.
When I begin paying for college I should be paying for the classes that will improve me in my major that I have chosen, not for the classes that will not help me in the subject I am to be studying in. One reason is it might take away from the position that I am suppose to be becoming a professional at. For example, if a math teacher is going to school to teach math, does history help him teach the class any better? In my opinion it doesn't.
In my opinion there should be no liberal studies and students should get a plan set for each major or minor him or her are going to school for. Some colleges have already gone under that impression for some of their minors or associates degrees that they shouldn't have to take other classes that may not have to do anything with their further studies. For example welders do not have to take many classes other than in the hands on welding classes. The only classes they have to take other than their main class is English and Math.
In my opinion I believe that college students should not have to further their studies other than what they have chosen to go to school for. I believe that it takes away from what they are trying to accomplish. Instead of furthering students education elsewhere they should create it so they further their education in their minor of major of their choice, making the workforce more intelligent in their position.
