The promise of a free public education was what propelled the United States into a super-power role during the twentieth century; a lot has changed in the world since that promise was established. Gone are the days where it took weeks for information to reach an average working person, gone are the days where newspapers were the only source of information. The world is now a much more interconnected place where every nation has direct communication to not only other nations, but also to their own people. Therefore, it is imperative for not only future business leaders, but also any future leaders to be required to have at least a single semester of studying abroad in order to have a preliminary experience in how the world is connected. Studying abroad will have profound impacts on not only the individual student, but also on the entire future of the United States.
Requiring a student to study abroad will have resonating impacts on the student as a person, and as a future leader. It will affect them as a person because the student will be away from home. One of the biggest steps forward when entering college is that it may be the first time the student will be away from home. The same thing will happen when studying abroad; the student will get exposure in a different culture, a different way of life. As a future leader, the student may have to learn a different way of communicating, or the student may learn how a different culture does business. In the age of instant communication, it is a powerful advantage for future leaders and current students to have a deeper understanding of different cultures, different ways of communication. This sort of understanding is imperative for students what wish to enter the world after college.
The future of the United States will forever be invested in the current and future students of the nation. Requiring students to study abroad will have profound impacts on the future of the United States. The students that will be studying now will be the future leaders that make of the great nation of the United States even greater. In this way, the experience that students will gain to further themselves personally will also influence the United Sates. This sort of influence will push the United States into a leadership role within an ever-expanding interconnected world.
Experience counts for a lot. An opportunity to study abroad will provide students an opportunity to evolve themselves personally and help revolutionize the United States. It will further enhance students that will become future leaders in the United States, thereby enhancing the United States as a whole
