School Project Tips by JOhanna - December 2017 Scholarship Essay
When I am working on a school project I use several strategies to succeed. One of the major steps to doing well with a school project is not to procrastinate. One must also do his or her best and seek help when necessary. Make sure to know all the requirements. Ask the teacher if there are any questions. Be sure to know exactly what needs to do and when to turn it in to get a good grade. Do a little every day. Make an outline or a rough sketch of what one is doing first. Depending on the project the plan for doing well may change slightly. No matter what a good project requires one to work hard and try to go beyond their best.
There are several benefits to not procrastinating. One benefit may be being under less stress. Not procrastinating gives one more time so that they can do a better job. This also allows one to do a little work every day. Doing one’s work on time allows for more time to revise and correct. Another benefit is helping one have more time to ask any questions that may come up. Having more time makes it easier to find mistakes by waiting a day and then reviewing one’s work. If the project requires working in a group it not procrastinating helps provide more time to get together and discuss their work. Procrastinating also usually leads to little sleep since it may cause the student to stay up late in order to finish their work. Little sleep can cause people to not work as well because they are tired and are suffering from a lack of sleep. Overall not procrastinating is a good step in doing well with a school project.
Depending on the project there are different strategies to follow. Since there are a variety of projects including writing, artistic, speech, poster, presentations, group work, and many others one cannot follow the exact same method for each of these. Everyone should do their best and then strive to do better and improve. No matter what project it is though, no one should never procrastinate. It does not matter if one considers themselves good or bad when it comes to the type of project, everyone can still do well if they do their best and try to do neat and accurate work.
When the school project is something that a student has to write it is especially important to work on it a little at a time. Make a rough draft. Get a second opinion and advice. Next the student needs to review their work. To do this they need to read over what they have written. Revise if necessary check for grammar. Have someone else check grammar as well. Wait a day and then go over it again to see if any more mistakes can be found. Correct and revise. Add finishing touches. Turn it in. Try and do better next time. Include what was still needed in the next project.
When someone needs to make something for their school project they need to take time to be able to do it neatly. Draw a rough drafts of one’s ideas. Choose the best one. Purchase or acquire materials if this is something that requires it. Find a large work space. If the student gets distracted easily find a quiet place or wear head phones. Set everything up. Do not glue anything down till the student is sure that is how they want it. Double check everything. Make sure it is nice, neat, and meets all requirements. Turn it in and learn from one’s mistakes.
In every school project there is room for improvement. One can always improve their skills. As the student do projects they should strive to do better each time. Learn from one’s mistakes. If one struggles they should seek help from family members or teachers. Students should remember that no matter what the project is they have the potential to do well and improve their skills.
