Outliers by Joey - December 2018 Scholarship Essay

You are on the committee that awards the Nobel Prize. Discuss two qualities your recipient would need to possess.
The recipient of the prize depends highly on which subject is being considered. The recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize would have to show great contributions toward bringing about peace in the world- obviously- in a way that makes them truly stand out. The recipient of a Nobel Prize in any realm of academia would need to contribute some finding to their field so great that it would overturn some long-held paradigm. For example, if someone came up with a working theory of quantum gravity, for example, it would affect quantum physics, and perhaps classical physics, so greatly that it is said that such a theory would effectively be "The Theory of Everything."
It is hard to make a universal statement about criteria for a Nobel Prize, because it is intended to be awarded to outliers. The recipient should stand out as truly excellent at what they do to the point where they bring about some undeniable improvement to the world. They cannot be defined as a group, because their contributions are so unusual that the result of said contribution cannot be repeated save by another, different contribution.
The recipient of a Nobel Prize must be unusually excellent. They must be an outlier.
