Dedication and Perseverance by Jodie - March 2014 Scholarship Essay

Education is important to me and through my high quality studies I have been able to become very successful in my academics. My greatest academic achievement has been maintaining a 4.0 GPA since the last quarter of my freshman year. A lot of time and dedication to my studies has been required for me to maintain a high grade point average.

This achievement goes further considering that I have participated in honors classes and Concurrent Enrollment classes throughout my High School education. Because of these challenging classes I have had the opportunity to learn how to learn. They challenge your thinking abilities and help you learn to be prepared, do quality work, and to think creatively. I can recall many late nights staying up to finish a project for school or to simply study for a test or prepare for a class discussion.

The greatest impact these classes and my GPA have had on me is that they have provided better opportunities for my future education and also have prepared me to compete in the busy work force. The principles of being on time and doing your best have impacted not only my current school work but have impacted my participation in extracurricular activities, my employment, and my church and community involvement.
