Jeremiah 29:11 by Joanna - November 2018 Scholarship Essay

My senior quote in the yearbook would be the scripture, ”I know the plans I have for you”(Jeremiah 29:11). The reason why I would choose a scripture rather than a quote from a sitcom or comedy show is that the script will always obtain the same meaning throughout my life. My faith is very important to me and my beliefs would never change as well as my way of life. During the duration of my academic career, I have been blessed with the best teachers as well as the greatest learning environments, and through all the advantages the only conflict I tend to face in the financial stability.
I grew up in a household supported by one income, so I knew that when college approached I would have to be responsible for the tuition and cost of the university I would attend. Not having parents that could support my college career, I quickly began to rely on my academic success to help aid me in my journey to further my education. Sometimes I am very confident that I can find a way to attend the college of my dreams while also avoiding debt while other days I have no clue how I will be able to afford to continue learning. That is where my faith comes in. Knowing that I am faithful, my relationship with God allows me to feel a sense of relief. That is why the scripture has a greater meaning for me.
The scripture explains that although I won't always get the full ride or the highest scholarship that I will never have to worry because God has a plan for me. To live a life without worrying is impossible, but with scriptures like Jeremiah 29:11 always allow me to relax and remember that God will always have a plan makes proves to me the importance of staying faithful although many elements of my life will go my way
Although my focus is on college, this scripture applies to all parts of life. One day, I won’t get the job and another day I won’t get the promotion, but it is the trust that there is something better for me that just hasn’t appeared yet. Throughout these seventeen years, I have had disappointments but with every opportunity, I don't receive something even better always appears. When I look back into my yearbook and see my quote, I will always remember that God will always have a plan for me.
