From the rhythmic melody of the dance floor to the strategic plays of business, my path to the future converges into one line in the pursuit of my major in business. My choice is more than an academic decision, a degree- it's a fine knitting weaving together my true passion for dance and the dreams of leaving a remarkable name in the music industry.
One of the pivotal experiences that fueled my passion for business was the formation of my own dance crew. My journey began as a dedicated leader of a dance crew, a space where creativity could be met with practicality, and choreography had intertwined with strategic planning. I gathered a group of like-minded individuals to create captivating performances. From choreographing routines to coordinating rehearsals, I embraced the role of both leader and collaborator, learning invaluable lessons in teamwork and organization. Although, managing this dance crew wasn’t just about performances and rehearsals; it was equivalent to running a small business. I needed to balance innovating creativity, maintaining discipline, and navigating the logistical aspects of event planning. These experiences, with the challenges I faced, coordinating team schedules and dealing with unexpected performance hiccups, shaped my skill to handle adversity and make informed decisions within a vigorous environment. I gained firsthand insight into the logistics and intricacies of event management, planting the seeds for my future endeavors in the realm of business music management.
The idea of a Business major lies in its promise to provide a comprehensive education of management principles, methodical thinking, and leadership dynamics. So as my passion for dance flourished, so too did my entrepreneurial spirit. However, I soon encountered the formidable challenges inherent in founding my dance crew, I encountered the harsh reality of entrepreneurship. Despite the passion and my dedication, me and my mentees faced setbacks in obtaining financial support from both our school and external organizations. This lack of funding and assistance left us feeling disheartened. However, recognizing that success often requires starting from scratch, I embarked on a journey of self-reliance and resourcefulness. Instead of waiting for opportunities to come to us, I took initiative steps to seek out partnerships and collaborations. I reached out to local organizaitons and proposed agreements and contracts to borrow their dance studios for rehearsals and performances. Additionally, I took on the responsibility of promoting our events and securing sponsorships in my school, leveraging my network to garner support for our goals. Through these efforts, I gained invaluable experience in negotiation, relationship-building, and strategic planning-skills that would prove in my future pursuits in business.
In closing, the journey towards selecting a major in business has been a transformative odyssey. From the formation of my dance crew tp the challenges of entrepreneurship, each obstacle has served as a catalyst for growth and self-discoverey. My love of dancing, along the lines of my entrepreneurial ambitions, encourages me toward a life in which I may contribute to the music industry as a leader and inventor. The struggles encountered while managing a dance program amid academic duties have strengthened my commitment to learning the choreography of business management. This major is a transformative journey for me and a dance into the world of business where each step is a changing move, each decision is a well-thought-out act and success, and the harmonious applause of an audience due to a well-managed music industrial company.
