One piece of advice to give students by Jessica - March 2019 Scholarship Essay
A lot of high school students think college is fun and partying, but remember fun doesn't last forever. Once the party is over and your test grade is bad; you realize partying does not add up to help with scholarships. College is expensive and good grades help qualify for scholarships. Find a good group of friends, that are in the same major that you are in, and join a study group. It is ok to chill and clear your head every once in a while, I go to the gym and work out. I will be in middle of studying and hit a road block, when things will not go in my head any more, I go to the gym and exercise. Exercise gets the blood circulating in my brain, and I can hit the books again.
Good grades are really important. Your GPA is an important process in your scholarship application. Do not stack on all hard classes at once. Take a couple of hard classes with some easier ones. A good grade in a couple of classes will balance out a C in a really hard class. This will keep your GPA up and you will be considered for scholarships.
Sign up for a tutoring website, or sometimes tutoring is offered at the school you attend for free. Ask the teacher for extra credit, and stay for study groups. When a teacher see that you want extra help, sometimes they will give you extra help. The goal is to get good grades, pass your classes; because college is only four years long. This is preparing what you will be doing for the rest of your life, so buckle down and study hard.
Do not forget to major in something you love. My mom took Nursing and twenty-five years later, still enjoys going to work!
