Many high school students can earn many opportunities by joining a study abroad program. Them joining that program give them the chance to experience new skills and lifestyles. They will also be able to see how different it is to work on their career in a different country than it is where they currently are. Study abroad should be required because it gives students many opportunities and experiences to learn new languages, strategies, and most importantly, skills.
Study abroad should be required because students get to have the opportunity to travel around and learn things that they never even knew or heard about. For example, if a student wants to work in the medical field, they are able to study abroad to earn their degree faster and also cheaper since they’re studying abroad. They will also be able to learn new lifestyles that are different than a regular hospital, where they are currently living. Also studying abroad will give the opportunity to meet and see the different kinds of people they will have to be working with sometime in the future. Another example would be if they have no idea how people would act or react to them, they will get an idea and it gives them the opportunity to be prepared. Doctors or nurses aren’t able to communicate with their patients and they have a difficult time trying to explain to them their situation. Studying abroad helps them learn new languages and they will be able to communicate with anyone.
Studying abroad will also give students the opportunity to learn different languages in case one day they will end up working with someone that does not speak English or Spanish. It’s better to learn more than two languages so they would be able to help them in the way that’s easiest for them. Not only that, but also they would have opportunities to get jobs that require speaking another language other than English and/or Spanish. Study abroad should be required for students since it gives them many different opportunities that they don’t even realize today and should start to realize those opportunities now rather than later when it is too late.
Study abroad will teach students different skills about what they want to do with their career or major. They will be able to learn things about their career and possibly get a better understanding about their career. It can also turn out to be cheaper and easier for them since study abroad can be a positive thing. Students may not realize it right now,but study abroad should be required because it creates a positive impact on the students and it will be able to get them far in life. Study abroad shouldn’t be required for freshman or even sophomores in high school, but it would be a great idea to require it for juniors and seniors because those are the years they would need to be looking at what they want to do when they reach college and it will help them decide their major. Joining a study abroad program can be beneficial because they see a side of their major they have never seen when they were in their regular college. Another benefit is when you graduate, the admissions board will look at a student specifically and will be highly impressed seeing that student was a study abroad student. It would show they know more than anyone else since they studied abroad.
