Thinking Ahead by JenniferLee - March 2025 Scholarship Essay
The question, "Where do you see yourself 10 years from now and how will your education have helped get you there?" frequently reloads in the back of my mind. Like really, where do I see myself 10 years from now? Although it seems realistically impossible to tell, a person can always think ahead and reminisce of the future ahead.
Firstly, education plays a major role that greatly effects where I see myself 10 years from now. Not just in a school setting, but knowledge and education from my peers shaped the way I see myself 10 years from now. In context to 10 years from now, I most definitely see myself with a loving family that cherishes each moments we have together. Through my education and knowledge I gain in my Church, I have learned of the importance of family. Education will greatly impact my future family decisions in learning how to take care of my family and be able to go through anything big or small.
Secondly, being able to hold a strong steady job to me is something that is crucial to an enjoyable life. 10 years from now, I see myself having a steady job to be able to provide for my family. Nursing is something i've always aimed for when taking classes in high-school, and aiming my education towards gaining knowledge through the health world. Being able to have a good education in nursing or any health science field, is very impactful to my future years. Knowing that in 10 years I could possibly see myself with my dream job as a nurse helping the community is major in knowing that I must have a good education to be able to get me where I desire. Starting from a young age, I was told to take my education very seriously. At the time, I was only a little girl and didn't understand the importance of this "education impacting your future". I did't think about my future as much as I do now. I now see the role education can play many years from now whether your an engineer, a doctor or working at McDonalds. YOU can chose where YOU see yourself in the future 10 years from now. Take advantage of your education, and everything it has to offer!
10 years from now I WILL see myself being successful knowing that I took every opportunity when starting at a young age even at times I didn't understand, to be able to create a successful "me" in the future. In 10 years, with my loving family, a steady job, and good friends that is simply all I could ever ask for :)
