My Most Inspiational Academic Role-Model by Jennifer - September 2013 Scholarship Essay
My Most Inspirational Academic Role-Model
My mom is my most inspirational academic role-model because she is always there for me and has a positive attitude no matter what the situation is. She is smart, funny, a great baker, and has a kind heart as she freely gives her time to help the homeless, give food and clothes to the poor, tutors kids who need extra help, lends a hand to her neighbors, and donates to charities and church. Also, She stands up for what she believes in and is outspoken when she feels something is wrong. However, she is very forgiving. My mom never gives up and works hard to make sure I concentrate on what is important to make a difference in the world.
From an early age she taught me qualities she possesses as caring, compassion, and generosity. She sets a good example for me as her strength and confidence helps me take control of my life and focus on positive and not negative experiences. She lives life to the fullest with passion and no regrets. She loves to have fun, enjoys movies, reading, playing games, and celebrating holidays. Her great personality lets her communicate openly as she listens to what I have to say and takes interest in my activities and academic education. While she asks questions to guide me, she also sets boundaries to steer me in the right direction.
Moreover, she encourages me to pursue my dreams but be happy and like whatever I decide to be. Her boldness taught me to have courage and take chances, but her sensitivity displays her warm, tender side when she takes care of me if I am sick, upset or need help with school work. My mom is devoted to her family and friends as she is loyal, dependable, honest, and trustworthy. At times she can be stubborn and thinks she is right, which she is most of the time, but she admits when she is wrong and owns up to it as she believes no one is perfect.
My mom’s unique qualities inspire me to be the best I can, and I admire her for the positive influence she gives me. Her encouragement helps me become a better person while her confidence and strength makes me believe I can achieve anything. She makes me believe in myself and that I can go beyond my potential. For all these reasons, my mom is my most influential academic role-model.
