College: "the best years of your life". When high school students think of college, they immediately think about getting a degree, partying, meeting new people, money, and the excitement of it all. The opportunities are the first thing I think of when you go off to college and get a degree. Like stated earlier, you meet many new people. Not only is this itself a benefit, but can be used to be a benefit for when out in the "real world". Say, you are interviewing for a job and the interviewer is an alumni of your university, You having not only a college degree, but the personal connection will come to your benefit to getting the job. For another scenario, your classmate from university had an opportunity with a project but was unable to make it work. That classmate may have liked the way you worked in class, and recommends your name to the project manager. Developing those connections is key to lead to opportunities.
The next benefit is the higher income potential. It is proven that a person is more likely to earn a higher income with a college degree compared to not. It is important that the person keeps an eye on the spend:earn ratio. In a person's first year of employment, they should earn a large portion of what they spent on their college degree.
The last benefit, and one of the most important, helpful ones is the development of a kid to an adult. People enter college as a seventeen, eighteen, nineteen year old and leave in their mid-twenties. They grow up and find who they are at this time. it is crucial they experience as much as possible to achieve this. They should strive to learn about anything and everything, whether about the bills they will learn to pay or the different situations they have learnt to handle.
So, what are the benefits of a college degree? As we have come to know, there are many. But, the opportunities we come across, the pay it leads to, and the person we become from our time spent earning a degree, are the greatest of them all.
