Knowlege is Power by Jenna - March 2018 Scholarship Essay
Can you picture your life when you grow up? Do you want to become a doctor, lawyer, chef, or engineer? How about the next Sydney Crosby or Chloe Kim? Every person who has achieved his or her goal or is trying to must have the courage to learn. Through a lifetime of learning, people develop a foundation that will allow them to forever grow.
Every day at school, students gain knowledge to continue their progress of developing themselves. Showing up to history class, they learn how our society has formed. By looking at the past, a student can build expand his or her view of the world. In English class, students expand their vocabulary to b able to communicate with more people and go more in depth in topics. Math and science are important subject also because they make every person a better problem solver. Both subjects develop critical thinking skills that allow someone can help in every day tasks.
Learning does not just take place in the classroom. Learning includes going to the library and finding a good book to read. It includes playing games that challenges someone to learn skills such as empathy and dedication. Real world problems allow people to combine things they learned at school with their experiences to overcome more challenges.
By always seeking out knowledge and continuing to grow, anyone can achieve success. Using past experiences and always striving to learn, you will be the best you. Knowledge is power, and you are the only one who can decide to never stop learning.
