College work deadline by Jazmine - July 2016 Scholarship Essay

In my senior year of High school, my English Teacher who a wise, nice, old lady and was strict on her rules she made for her class. Mrs. Julian was her name, and she said, “I don’t accept late work period; just like in college, those teachers will not accept any work after their set deadline.” Most of the students in my class stuck true to what Mrs. Julian said, and others ignored, were on their phone, or were not listening.
“…just like in college, those teachers will not accept any work after their set deadline.” I wasn’t too sure that was true; I thought it was a phrase that the teachers thought of together to encourage us to turn in our homework on time, but I always turned in my homework on time without saying. During my first semester, I realized that Mrs. Julian wasn’t fooling around with what she said. In my business class, my teacher told the class to keep track of the deadlines of the homework of this whole semester; I was on track but gradually lost track cause of my time management was terrible. I received at least 4 zeros for 4 different works in my business class, and I was mad at myself for missing them and for not managing my time to have them done.
Even though I suffered greatly on those assignments, I received at B for the class by studying with my roommate and at the library, checking the deadlines for the other assignments, and passing the quizzes and final. After my first semester, I told myself to never make that mistake again because it may cost me greater lost in the future.
