Empowering Dinner
There are plenty of historical figures that would be wonderful to have dinner with and talk about different things that interest yourself and them. I do have several historical figures in mind and would love to have dinner with each one of them. I think the historical figure I would choose to have dinner with would be Martin Luther King Jr. Not just because he was an activist that spoke out and marched for equal rights but, because he decided to have the courage to speak out and to help make a difference on future generations. I also would like to know why he wanted to speak against it and what he did to prepare himself for the persecution, trials and tribulations that were ahead of him.
Dinner with Martin Luther King Jr would help me gain confidence in doing what he has done but for more than just one race, gender, religion, etc. I have my own dream of being able to speak up against human trafficking and any other problem that occurs that we as Americans deal with. I would ask him what was it that caused him to break and get tired of the same daily problem. Did he know every consequence that he was about to face? Even though I would not be putting my life on the line was he truly prepared to risk his life just to achieve what he wanted. I would also ask for some word of advice on how to build up courage and to raise awareness about recurring problems and problems that are oppressing as a whole.
The dinner with Martin Luther King Jr. would be close enough as a life changing experience. If I could even have 5 minutes with just talking to Dr. King I would be blessed enough to have empowerment to go forth with what I want to do in life in general.
