Why I am Grateful for My Education by Jason - November 2015 Scholarship Essay
Often times college students are caught up in the monotony and the stress associated with their college experience. The long classes, the papers, and the late nights often engender a negative attitude. While I often times find myself grumbling about certain aspects, However, I try to always keep in mind that I need to be grateful for the opportunity to recieve an education.
Sometimes it helps me to remember the fact that someone always has it worse. It seems innapropriate to complain about an assignment or test when considering the fact that people around the world are wondering where they will find their next meal. Realizing that I have been given an opportunity to earn a college diploma, and learn to help me in my future, prompts me to realize how blessed I am to be in my situation.
The aspect concerning my education I am most grateful for is the fact that I have been given an outstanding opportunity to better prepare myself for my future. Many people my age would love to be in the situation to attend college and recieve an education. This motivates me to always strive to put forth my best possible effort. Since I have been given the opportunity to attend college, I realize that I need to show my gratitude through my work ethic.
Also, I understand that to which much is given, much is expected. I am extrmely grateful for the fact that I am able to attend college while others are not, and I hope to make the most out of the knowledge and experience I have gained. I also am appreciative of the knowledge, tutelage, and experiences I have recieved from my professors. By using this gratitude to fuel my time in college, I hope to graduate with holding onto as much information as possible. I hope to translate my knowledge into real life application, and hopefully make a difference for the better.
