My Inspiration by Jasmine - October 2019 Scholarship Essay

It is easy to say that my inspiration isn't the most creative one to have but it is someone who is important to me. My drive, my inspiration to go through my college journey is my mother, Sarah. Why? Well it is simple really. I saw my mom grow so much over these past years and work through every single problem and never giving up. I saw her at her lowest points and her highest. I watched her go through Nursing school and graduate. There were times through her 2-Year journey through school where she was so close to giving up, but she didn't, she didn't let anyone stop her from accomplishing her goals and that is why I look up to her in so many ways.

Mom pushed through every hardship she had from her divorce, to the endless hours she fought in court to have her kids safe. I aspire to be like her, I aspire to be strong willed and courageous like my mom. Even now, as I go through the process of applying for colleges, I feel this sense of pride and I know that she is going to be so proud of me for making it this far. Mom never wanted me to give up at school, there were times where I thought the world would win its battle and I wouldn't be able to go to college and I would be stuck in Casa Grande forever. But with the help, support, and motivation, my mother has been able to provide to me, I am able to accomplish all that I could ever want in life and that is why I am inspired by her. She shows compassion and compassion through tough school days is something that every person needs.
