Mandate Studying Abroad for All
Studying abroad will give students an opportunity to develop a better understanding of their prospective majors, allow them to become more culturally aware and travel the world with little to no cost of their own. Colleges should require their students to study abroad, having each student stay in another country for even a semester encourages learning. By leaving the campus environment students can experience the world around them in a more interactive way. These individuals are given the chance to live and learn in a completely different setting and if colleges did not mandate studying abroad they would not be able to understand how others in different countries learn.
All college students benefit from studying abroad. Business, Foreign language, and History majors are a few degree fields that these students learning overseas have the ability to obtain extensive knowledge on. The advantages of studying in foreign countries significantly outweigh the disadvantages of not studying abroad. Spending time in other countries allows individuals of dissimilar backgrounds to network amongst one another. The opportunity to study in any country on the planet allows college students learning there to immerse themselves in cultures unlike their own and permits intellectual growth.
Living and learning in different countries all over the world must be mandated for college students. There is no reason to limit students from reaching their full potential by studying abroad. Combining the knowledge they have gained from their host college and the institution they study at overseas strengthens their overall educational experience and has to be required for everyone.
