Me, Myself, and I in 10 Years by Janelle - December 2015 Scholarship Essay

In 10 years, I see myself as a professional photographer. Ever since my grandpa gave me his two Minolta film cameras when I was in 8th grade, I have loved photography. I absolutely love taking pictures, It has become my passion and what I spend most of my time outside of school doing. I now own a Nikon and Canon Rebel digital camera as well as my film cameras. I currently take a lot of photographs of nature landscapes as well as macro photography and pictures of people. I take family pictures, portraits of pets, and senior pictures for people at my school.

My education would further my passion and allow me to learn the ins and outs of the photography world and process.The college I really would like to attend is the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This school has an amazing photography program that branches out into digital as well as film photography while also going in the direction of graphic design and filming. Saint Francis has, in their photography lab, the ability to develop film in a darkroom which I have always wanted to learn to do.

In 10 years, I see myself as a professional photographer. I see myself living my dream and doing what I absolutely love every day of my life. I see myself as being a nature photographer for National Geographic or even being a hometown family photographer who takes family photos and senior pictures. Either way, I would be happy with what I was doing because it is what I love. This is where I see myself in 10 years. I see myself being right where I want to be.
