When I get to college, I plan to major in Mass Communication with a focus in Digital Marketing. I chose this major because it aligns directly with my career goal of becoming a Marketing Communications Specialist—a role that blends creativity, strategy, and communication to deliver impactful messages to targeted audiences.

Marketing communications is a field that fascinates me because it allows professionals to craft narratives that build brand awareness and connect with people in meaningful ways. It’s a balance of storytelling and data-driven strategy, both of which I enjoy. As someone who thrives in creative environments and also values analysis and planning, this path feels like a natural fit.

My interest in this major was sparked during high school, where I took digital media and business management courses. These classes introduced me to the fundamentals of marketing, web design, and business operations, both domestically and internationally. I also earned certifications in various software applications, which has given me a strong technical foundation. These experiences confirmed my desire to explore the field further through college-level courses such as SEO marketing, social media marketing, and principles of marketing.

Mass Communication excites me because it’s all about reaching people—understanding what they value, how they think, and what drives their decisions. I look forward to gaining real-world experience through internships with companies like Microsoft or Fenty Beauty, which are known for their innovative and authentic marketing strategies. These opportunities will help me develop the practical skills and insights necessary to thrive in the industry.

Although I am committed to achieving my goals, the rising cost of tuition and housing is a major challenge. Financial assistance is crucial for me to continue my education without the constant burden of financial stress. A scholarship would not only support my academic journey but also allow me to fully focus on learning, growing, and preparing for a future in marketing communications.
