My Favorite Subject Defines Me by Jamena - April 2013 Scholarship Essay

School, is not every students favorite place to be. But most students do have a favorite class they would to go to, or a favorite subject they love. Well my favorite subject is reading. Reading is something that I have loved to do since I was a very small girl. I used to read all day, all night and even in the dark. Reading so much in the dark caused to me strain my eyes a lot, and now I have to wear glasses because my vision is not very well. But with my glasses I still am reading.
Since a small girl, I have been told that I'm very bright and a great reader. In elementary school, I was a part of the Sunshine State Young Readers Club. In that club we read many books, and had meeting about what we had read, what new words or phrases and things like that we'd learned. And I also participated in the Accelerated Reader program throughout to high school. Reading to me is like a yoga class. It helps me to relax, and helps me find myself. This year as a senior I took the ACT and received a score of 27 on the reading section. I received the highest reading score in my school. And for that I was rewarded. I love reading, reading is me, reading defines me as a person.
