All of my life I have had people tell me that i have enough potential to do many great thing if I put my mind to it. As an african american male i excelled beyond academic expectations, suprising many of my fellow classmate with my success as a student in the classroom. Growing up without my mom or dad around was tough but it motivates me to work hard day in and day out. I grew up watching my grandma work long shifts after retiring just to be able to support myself and my two older brothers. In order to give back to my grandma and the rest of may famly and show them how much I appreciate all of the support i received from them throughout my life i want to attend college. To me attending college is an opportunity to show my family the all the help they provided me with for my education was not in vain. Attending college is a way to create a better future for myself and not end up in prison like my mother or could even just be a chance to get away from the negativity that i faced as a child. Me going to college will create a positive image for the kids in the neighborhood to look up to and work to be like, if not better.
