Academic Goal by Jalyn - August 2022 Scholarship Essay

My main goal for this year is to absorb. I want to immerse myself in college life. This is where I will be for the next 5 years of my life. I want to learn where everything is located, I want to become active of the college community, and I want to excel at my classes.

When trying to learn where everything is located, it can be frustrating at times. I have done multiple tours of the campus before I decided to enroll. This gives me a basic idea of where things are located so I won’t have as much trouble locating where I need to be. I will be exploring more of the campus and familiarizing myself with everything.

By being an active part of the college community will be hand in hand with learning about the college. While I am discovering new places and things about the community, I will be jumping in on things that interest me. I am hoping to find new friends, new clubs, and get out of my comfort zone by trying new things.

The focus of school is to excel in classes. I want to absorb all the information that is given to me so I can excel in my career. I want to be able to retain as much information as possible so when I do graduate and move onto my career, I am able to provide amazing services.

Here is me taking the next chapter of my life, absorbing as much as I can. I am hoping by me doing this, I can meet friends for life, networking as much as I can, and learning so that I can excel in my career.
