Invest in your future! by Jalyn - April 2016 Scholarship Essay
Increasing your knowledge and education not only helps you become a better, more self-reliant citizen but it benefits our economy as well. If there was one thing I would suggest to the future generation of this world, I would strongly advise young students to develop a passion for learning because education is the key to future success. People who graduate college are infrequently unemployed. Why? These people usually have a more adaptable skillset which ensures them to always have doors of opportunity available to them in the employment arena.
Using education helps us become better, more self-reliant citizens who have exposure to ‘the finer things’ in life. Not one thing in this world can substitute the “educational experience” a person possesses. Learning is not bad for you. At times, it is challenging but it is a true test of our character. The question “what is your highest level of education?” is on every single job application which proves that education matters!
As a young man, I am in pursuit of higher education because I have watched my parents struggle with the lack of education they possess. It’s important to have a strong commitment in anything you do, being educated will only help you. Once you develop that passion, it not only benefits your life but it benefits your loved ones and the lives of young children. I make a conscious effort to understand activities on a holistic level, going beyond just my own responsibilities.
As a society today, we are more advanced than any culture in the world’s history of existence. We have tools! But all of that is insignificant unless you have the will to learn along with the intention to be taught. People from all walks of life have the willpower to assimilate education.
