The Two Nobel Prize Recipient Qualities by Jaime Juan - December 2018 Scholarship Essay
As a Nobel Prize committee member, the two qualities I seek in a Nobel Prize recipient are: Selflessness and Innovative. I believe that a Nobel Prize recipient needs to be selfless, that he or she, places others needs above their own. This individual would place making others’ lives better; placing their needs second. All the hard work; in blood, sweat and tears are basic hurdles of the candidate. Even through extreme suffering; the candidate must continue to endure, against all odds – in order to succeed.
The Nobel Prize recipient also needs to be Innovative; in such a way, that he or she would create something from scratch, that nobody else has created before. Another way the individual can be innovative, is to revise something already in existence – but make it even better than the original, which would make that past inventor proud. I strongly believe that these two qualities need to be present, in order to fully be considered; to become a Nobel Prize recipient. If a candidate, has one or the other; it is not enough. For example, if a candidate is innovative and inconsiderate – the outcome of such a person would be outside the criteria of the Nobel Prize entirely.
