Life in 10 years by Jaden - December 2015 Scholarship Essay

Life in 10 years is quite a thought. My life could go in any which way. I think my education will significantly influence which direction or career path I choose to follow. As of now, I plan to pursue a Bachelors degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice. I hope to be given the opportunity to help people on a daily basis. I love being able to help people with their needs and the feeling I get after doing so. My life has been tremendously blessed by so many people in my life and community and I would like to provide help for my community with a degree in Psychology.
In 10 years time, I hope to be a practicing Psychologist in either a health care setting or in a setting dealing with the criminal justice system. If I can help someone recover or get their life back on track I would be so pleased to see something so small making a difference in someone else's life. I hope to be caring for a family, be an active member in my community, church and anything else I commit myself to doing.
My education will benefit myself, my community and those that are in need of services from a licensed Psychologist. Helping someone with a disorder of any kind is such a blessing to that individual with the disorder. However, the individual with the disorder is not the only one that benefits. The community benefits from psychological services. Helping one person try to turn their life around or get them back to a good mental state can create a chain reaction. Society can benefit when everyone is in a good state of mind and actively participating in the community.
I have a true passion for the degree I am pursuing. The thought of being able to help individuals in need is so amazing. I hope to make a difference in lives of those who seek help or advice. I am grateful for the chances I have already been given to serve others as well as the future opportunities to aid others in any trial they may be experiencing.
