A piece of advice I would give to younger students by Jade - April 2016 Scholarship Essay
One piece of advice that I would give to younger students is to definitely try as hard as you can your Freshman and Sophomore year. You shouldn't start trying your Junior and Senior year, because hen your GPA won't be as good as you'd like it to be. Personally, I believe that my GPA could be a lot better than it is now, but I didn't try the best my Freshman year. But, I've caught up, and my GPA is a lot better now.
Another piece of advice that I would give to a younger student is- don't take anything too personally. Kid's are very mean these days, and they'll do anything and everything to bring you down and to distract you. As long as you don't care, you'll be fine. But, if you let it get to you, you'll get very down and lose the drive that you have to work hard in school.
Last but certainly not least, I'd advise every younger student to get your core classes out of the way in your earlier High School years. This will help to let you have mostly electives your Junior and Senior years, and you'll be a lot happier. I'm very glad that I got my core classes out of the way, and now I only have 1 or 2 per trimester.
