When I get to college, I want to major in television and film. Since I was little, I’ve loved creating stories and imagining a world where anything could happen. I always lived in my imagination and allowed that to take me to a different level of creativity. To create a story and produce it in a way that reflects the vision in my head would be a dream come true.
Before I could even realize what my dream was, I had already accumulated interests that surrounded it. I’d always been involved in crafts and things that allowed me to explore my creativity or engaged in a variety of content. As I grew older and began watching more television, I began to expand my interests on a more international level. Not only American films but foreign films as well have inspired me and allowed me to develop an interest in a different style and technique of storytelling and cinematography. I’ve always loved photography as well so as my interests began to delve more into film, so did my love for picture art and creating a beautiful image. This is something especially important to me and has become even more important when I see films from other countries. I get to see the creative liberties they took that aren’t common from where I’m from or completely new from what I’ve ever seen.
I now go to an arts school that allows me to be surrounded by the things I love and take inspiration from on a daily basis. Being at this school has helped me so much and reignited passions from my childhood that I thought would never come to fruition. Now I get to work more closely with different arts that are a part of the world of film that are equally as important but aren’t as recognized. My goal in my future career is to bring light to all aspects of a film and show the artistry in writing, design, costumes, acting, cinematography, and everything else. This newfound goal has solidified my love for the craft and sparks a light that drives me to invent something beautiful.
