The Not-so Perfect, but Perfect Person by Jada - December 2018 Scholarship Essay
To be considered to win the Nobel Prize, a person has to be the not so perfect, but perfect person. By this I mean that the person would have had to go through and acknowledge the trials and tribulations that the average person goes through. I mean how would you bring peace if there is a disconnect from most of society. The best candidate for a Nobel Prize would posses the ability to maintain a positive outlook on life, even through the obvious hard times. This individual would also be fearless in the way that they will not abstain from speaking their mind due to the neigh-sayers whispering behind their back.
Positivity is something that is hard to keep during rough times and only the strongest of people have the talent to persevere. There are many ways a person can be considered positive; in this case they are described as someone who sees a problem and does not let it be washed away by human ignorance, they face it head on and even in the eyes of failure there is a smile on their face. The world is overwhelmed by people who cannot face obstacles with a positive outlook, which in the end causes them not to reach their full potential or all the amazing things that they could have done for mankind. Negativity amounts to nothing. People with a positive outlook on life are happier, and this happiness is followed by the appetite to truly do something in life. When going to a place such as a soup kitchen, there are rarely any frowns on people’s faces because they want to spread that positivity and help others feel the content they feel in their life. Positive people see a problem and they want to conquer it; no one helped to create peace in ever-fighting world with a negative attitude.
There is another obstacle those who want to change the world face, and it is the people who say that they will never be able to do it. The neigh—sayers. Words are a powerful tool and they are able to break down and penetrate many people. The best Nobel Prize candidate would take these negative words and throw them out the window because those would not stop and strong-minded and fearless person. When there is an idea in this person’s head, there will be no stopping it even when thinking about what people will come to say about it. Take Martin Luther King Jr. for example. His dream was known by many, and many opposed him, but through the constant dismissal of his ideas of true racial equality he was still able to accomplish what he attempted to do. No amount of racist whites or negative African Americans could change his mind. Everyday that he went out to protest, there was a chance he could die, but it was worth the risk. The best recipient would confront the scariest beast and then just push them aside for the greater good.
There is no such thing as perfect person; not even close, but this recipient with the right amount of positivity and the ability to be fearless would help the world become little more perfect itself.
