Life Isn't Fair by Jacob - May 2025 Scholarship Essay
Throughout my own 4 years of high school and differing perspectives that I have been able to see online, one thing that I can say for sure is that nothing is ever fair for anyone. There are some people who don't need to try at all, while there are others struggling just to get by everyday. Those who don't have enough to succeed can either give up or do their best to adapt to their situation and overcome all of the problems that come their way. It is a constant struggle, but with time, things will eventually pay off and life will become better. If I had unlimited time and money, I would try my hardest to ensure that if there are people who are struggling, they will get the help that they need.
From what I have seen in school and online, there is an immeasurable amount of talent that is hidden away from the rest of the world. One of the main reasons why is because of the lack of resources that is available to them in order to succeed. One example that I can see in my life is a fellow student at my highschool. They are the smartest in the school and have also gotten into one of the best universities in our state. The main thing that is stopping them from pursuing this opportunity is the cost of attendance. While they are still fortunate enough to be able to go to another school, they are still missing out on the opportunity of getting a very good education.
The existence of unlimited money and time would greatly increase the turnout of great minds in our world. One of the major things that I would target is getting support adolescents so that they don't have to worry about the present. The biggest problem present is the lack of proper care for people. The three main things that would be targeted are healthcare, food, and safety. The next act would be funding activities for those in need of assistance. This includes things like funding for research opportunities, helping those who want their voices to be heard, and providing support for those who might not have enough funds to support their future.
I believe that this prompt stems from the quote that money cannot buy happiness. Even if one were to have all of the money in the world to fix all of the problems, there would still be some people who are still unhappy. Money can't buy happiness, but it can aid in achieving it. I am someone who thinks that true happiness comes from being contempt with yourself and having no worries in life. Money can help achieve some parts of this, but everything. No one can tell you whethere you are happy or not, it is something that only you truly know
Everyone has something that they are good at and they should be proud of. While it might seem like a small feat to some, it could still mean the world to others. These things should be shared with others in society in order to promote diversity, empowerment and overall good. Talents and gifts should not be hidden away due to things such as financial resources. If someone is good at something, the rest of the world deserves to see them strive. Unlimited time and money would play a big part in helping this plan succeed, but more things will need to change. As a society, we have to learn to embrace ourselves and promote others. We live in an age where the internet can be our best friend or our enemy. We are able to post ourselves online, but we also risk embarassment or even hate. This is why we need to acknowledge that not everyone is perfect. Everyone has their own faults and circumstances that they are not in control of.
