Passion for Education by Jacklyne - July 2019 Scholarship Essay
Having a passion for educations means to me being open to new ideas and open communication. So often people don't ask questions in fear of feeling dumb or judgemnt from peers. I think it is important to create an environment for free exchanges of ideas that will allow us all to learn something new or in another way. Similar to learning a method to get to the same answer, but more efficiently.
For instance, for all through out my primary school education I hated math. And it wasn't so much that I hated it, it was that I couldn't get it as quickly as other kids. It wasn't until high that I got better at it, but it was still a subject I was still struggling with till college. The way my college algebra class went was at a speed I preferred and taking time to take notes in class and go online for my assignments really worked well for me. On the other side of the spectrum throughout most of my education in English or reading I excelled in, but never felt challenged enough even after finishing my senior english related classes in my junior year. Having a passion for education also means being challenged, so it is always engaging.
