One With the Body by Jace - November 2019 Scholarship Essay
This past May I was elected Student Body President by my peers. I come from a small Catholic high school with only 450 students. Therefore my classmates and others are very well-knit together. I have been the front-runner in my class based on GPA. One way I lead myself and others are through my work ethic. My favorite quote is "Work Smarter not Harder." This saying has been in my mind constantly for five years, beginning in eighth grade. Due to the success of myself through my teachers, I am able to share my experiences with everyone that I encounter. My parents have always worked very hard to put me through Catholic education and I want to give back to them through hard work. Whether it is on the baseball or football field or in the classroom, I strive to lead by example and hope my peers not only follow in my footsteps but create their own.
The best thing that has ever happened to me is someone telling me how proud they are of me. I am forever thankful for the gift that God gave me. Intelligence is the key factor in the world for success. Today's world is filled with technology so I want to create a door that opens into the law field for me. Students at my school constantly ask how I do what I do to get through school with all A's. I tell them to work harder not smarter. Being President of the student body also helps me in this aspect of high school. Leading the classroom is one thing but leading a student body is even harder. I manage my time well and I always hope I can change someone's life one day in high school through example and my leadership skills.
