¨Any dream can become a reality.¨ my senior quote is short and simple but the explanation behind it is endless. Growing up I have learned to set small goals to achieve my ultimate goal. The strategy of making small goals to achieve a big dream has really shown throughout my life. Every day I make a small goal to complete tasks, every week I make a plan to be in check with my goals and take the necessary steps, and every month I look at my life and i'm pleased that I have worked towards or achieved my dream.
One great example of this is my academics. I am not a student who retains information quickly and material doesn’t just “click” for me like it does for other students who take honors and AP classes. I knew that staying in those classes and maintaining A’s and occasional B’s was going to take some work, so of course I set a goal. I first knew I needed to have good time management to complete homework and have extra study time while balancing sports and extracurricular activities. As I look back today I don’t regret any challenging classes I took and I enjoy bringing home my report card to my proud parents.
As I have dealt with obstacles in my life I know that I need to make a dream and set my stepping stones to get there. I have been diagnosed with Bipolar 1 and being bipolar affects my everyday life and relationships around me. I had a goal to not just rely on the medication but research and take every step I can to be stable and aware of my thoughts and actions. Everyday I try be aware, when I catch myself slipping too far into one mood I do my best to balance myself or even fake it so I do not affect the moods of the people around me. This has been one of my biggest struggles and a very hard dream to achieve. Even though this will be a lifelong dream that will take a million small goals I am determined and I will not be a quitter.
So what does my senior quote say about me? To others it's a cliche saying that could most likely be found on pinterest. To me it's a reminder that no obstacle is too big and that I can be and do whatever I set my mind to as long as I am patient and take the necessary steps. The mindset that “Any dream can become a reality” has taken me far through highschool and I have achieved great things, I don't plan to stop here every day will be a new dream.
