My Favorite Non-Traditional Way to Learn by Israel - September 2024 Scholarship Essay

One of my favorite non-traditional ways to learn is with existential learning, which is the action of physically doing tasks to study. This approach allows for me to have hands-on learning with a mix of practical learning that allows me to apply my knowledge. I have found experiential learning to be more engaging for me and also have made the memorization aspect a lot easier. For example I believe role playing is a great way to learn, by putting the student in the environment so that they can see from the lens of who/what they are learning about is always a great way for teaching to be memorable. This gives the student first hand knowledge about the material while also building their problem solving skills.

Outside of the class room I have found others out of the box easy to learn and study. I have been using AI ethically to find new ways of studying. I've been able to receive new study tips from AI and also learn more about certain topics. AI can give me step by step on how to solve math problems while studying so I can grasp the knowledge better. AI can also help you brainstorm ideas you never even thought of before. With AI, you learn more about algorithms and their functions.

By combining experimental learning and self-directed studying, I get a deeper understanding of the subjects I am learning in school. These non-traditional ways to learn not only grow my knowledge but help me properly apply what I have learned.
