Education by Isadora - April 2023 Scholarship Essay
The speaker told us a story while I was waiting to be called down for a leadership program. When he was at a school, one student singled out only the negative aspects, and another responded, "Instead of complaining, you can make a change." Though the term "change" is quite general, my education has taught me that the goal of change is to make the world a better place. For me, a better place is one with a warm atmosphere, which regrettably the United States occasionally lacks. If I had unlimited time and resources, I would talk to other schools using the groups and leaders from my school as examples. By doing this, I would introduce clubs and classrooms where students would feel more at ease, in addition to creating a friendly climate in every school in the United States. Additionally, survey each student in every school to learn about the negative experiences they've had. I use the research techniques I have honed through my classes to find solutions to the issues.
I decided to make a difference in education because it is where the world begins. Where you study, where you gain information, and where change starts. The world would be educated in every subject needed to bring about change if every child had access to an education that allowed them to acquire healthy knowledge and create a welcome environment.
