New Years Resolution by Isabella - January 2016 Scholarship Essay

One new year's resolution that will help me become a better student is having perfect attendance in high school. This will help me become a better student for three reasons. It will prepare me for college, it will help my grades improve and it will help me prepare for my first job.

First, my new year's resolution will help me become a better student by preparing me for college. I say this because in college you have to be in class everyday in order to maintain a good GPA and good test scores. Having perfect attendance in high school will also help me in college because I will get used to being somewhere everyday. Also, in college can gain better relationships with my professors if I’m punctual. Having perfect attendance will also show my future college that I put effort into my education.

Secondly, having perfect attendance in high school will help improve my grades. My current grades are all above a C average but having straight A’s would be really nice and I believe that if I come on a daily basis I will achieve this goal. The new year will also give me motivation to conquer this resolution because I want to improve myself more and more every year.

Lastly, my new year’s resolution of having perfect attendance will help prepare for my first job. I’ve never worked before and I am currently looking for a job. I know for a fact that when you get a job it is crucial to be on time and to not miss too many days. Having perfect attendance in high school will train my body to be on a schedule and that will help my physical well being.

Overall, my new year’s resolution of having perfect attendance in high school will help me become a better student in 2016 by preparing me for college, improving my grades, and preparing me for my first job.
