#Everything by Isabella - April 2018 Scholarship Essay
Education means #everything to me because it is the foundation for everything. Without it we would be nothing. I want to become a teacher to be able to make a positive difference in future generations. Personally, I see teaching as being a part of something bigger; teachers stimulate the future generations to become leaders and innovators. Where would we be without teachers? I cannot think of any job that is as important to society as teaching. Every General, every Leader of Nations, every CEO, all received an education. All had at least one teacher that motivated them to achieve their own personal best. I want to be that teacher to someone. I have always been grateful to the educational system available because the teachers have given me lifelong values and lessons I will keep forever. I feel it is my turn to contribute to the greater good and give back what I have learned and experienced over the years. My love for service has always been evident in my life and I have dedicated over 900 hours of my time to community service. As a part of my community service, I have been tutoring students failing Spanish during The Learning Center lunch or after school. Interacting one on one with students is wonderful, but being able to see the difference you make in their lives is even more rewarding. I believe as a teacher I can motivate, inspire, and encourage students to strive for success just as my teachers have done for me. To me, the purpose of education is to help students prepare for the real world by helping them become independent citizens and by providing them with knowledge needed for future careers. I am prepared to give my all to my future students and in return I will only ask that my students come to school prepared and ready to learn. With this I will receive the gratification that I am making a difference in the lives of future generations. I hold a passion and strong devotion to the career I intend to pursue because education is #everything.
