My dream job? by Isaac - February 2019 Scholarship Essay
My dream job?
Hmm ... toughie.
An occupation as such that twinkles in the depths of dreams, overflows the soul with passion, or fulfills a life to the fullest it can be, is a tall order. I must confer with my thoughts.
… … …
Well … my foreseeable “dream job” concerns computer science—I know that much.
There is no other area of study which I have bonded closer with. Computer science, to me, ties the world together. It’s that friend that makes everything better—everything brighter. I have worked and learned, experienced and created. I’ve sifted through hours, just coding.
But, does that truly, enchanted fever of a dream, exist here?
I don’t know. I suppose that part is up to the job.
Or … is it up to me to make it so?
I decide what my dream is—soul-infusing or bland!
Bear with me!
My dream job, I hope, is any job. If I’m happy and motivated, then I’ve achieved my dreamy goals and found a dream job. That’s it! I’ve found my enchanted fever of a dream in any occupation, situation, area, project, where I am happy and motivated.
Of course, there is about a 99% chance that that job is in computer science! If I’m lucky, it’ll be some exciting, exotic front where new contributions are sparse yet important—near to my home.
Regardless, it is the motivation that does it—that provides the effort and dedication.
A mindset of motivation, with no barriers on a mind’s ability, provides growth, as well.
I hope, in college, to remain motivated and to expand my motivation …
to think dedicatedly, happily, and purposefully. That is motivation!
My plans, as of now, are to continue pushing my limits—and operating as if I have none. Because, then, on homework, tests, projects, I’ll know my only true limit is my outward effort. In the honors college, in clubs and activities, or just in getting good grades, I’ll know that I can grow and improve. I’ll know that with practice and application, my motivation will expand.
~And, so too will success~
