Physical therapy, along with all “allied health” occupations embodied the idea of compassion in the pursuit of the protection, promotion, and optimization of health to prevent illness and injury while ensuring a welcoming environment. My interest in this career path began at a young age, anchored by an important realization that simple acts of kindness can significantly impact the lives of others. Whether it was helping a friend who was injured during recess, or caring for animals at the local shelter, I’ve always felt drawn to supporting those in need.
This profession appeals to my interest in science, my desire to help others, and work collaboratively with professionals to enhance the medical field. The flexible career paths and diverse specializations in any part of this career excite me, specifically the interpersonal aspect building trust with patients and their families to advocate for them and improve their well-being. This career may also create global opportunities that enable me to spread my knowledge and make a meaningful impact on communities worldwide, which remains one of my dreams. My long-term ambition is to specialize as a physical therapist, where I can change lives everyday.
Ultimately, physical therapy aligns perfectly with my passion for a career that combines compassion and medical expertise. In this constantly advancing field of work, embracing lifelong learning and growth remains vital to providing exceptional patient care and teaching future generations. I am eager to develop problem-solving skills and medical knowledge, to prepare myself for new challenges and whatever life throws at me. By pursuing this career, I can fulfill the aspirations of my younger self and enhance my skills in my hobbies and sports as a teammate, friend, and individual.
