Science gives Knowledge and Direction by Ian - August 2016 Scholarship Essay
The subject I learned most from in high school was science. I thoroughly enjoyed every single science class I took whether it was AP Chemistry, AP Biology, or Physics. I found that I had a passion for science that was only uncovered during high school as I challenged myself by taking the intimidating advanced science classes. I absorbed all information that I was exposed to regarding science, but ii found that I was unsatisfied and wanted to learn more so I checked out scientific books to read from my local library in my free time on subjects such as physics or chemistry. I have learned far more in science than any other subject because the spectrum of knowledge found in science is extremely vast. In science, one can learn how the world works through physics, study life through biology and study the elements and compounds that make up the earth and everything in it through chemistry.
The things I have learned from science have given me tremendous growth as a student. I have always known that I wanted to study science in college and this fact has given me direction and drive for the future. It motivated me to excel in high school so that I could go to a good college and graduate school and further my knowledge in the subject of science. Because of my passion for science I have decided to pursue a lifelong career in this area by studying to become a doctor because they have a great knowledge of science and also use that knowledge to help other people.
